Sasha’s 13th birthday!

D’abord j’ai pu me reveiller tard… YES! Puis un bon début à ma belle journée… Un gâteau d’anniversaire pour le petit déjeuner! 😍🎂  Quelle merveille. Nous avons fait une grande marche au dessus de Tilcara qui était très très long et haut mais bon, très jolie donc elle valait le coup🏜  puis nous sommes finalement allés à la montagne des 14 couleurs, la route depuis Humahuaca était en fait une piste et a pris 1h pour faire 25km… une route très rocheuse alors on sautait beaucoup mais bon c’était drole! La montagne était juste splendide. C’était une expérience unique.

Après ça nous sommes rentrés et sommes allés au jacuzzi ce qui était très relaxant. Puis nous sommes allés boire un petit Mojito mais ne vous inquiétez pas, pour les enfants c’était sans alcohol. Ensuite nous sommes allés au Resto pour un très bon dîner dans un cadre sympathique! Et pour bien finir la journée, un petit film tous ensemble pour souhaiter mes 13ans!!! Voilà la très belle journée. 😍🎈

Sasha’s birthday turned out to be quite a busy day! After a surprise birthday cake for breakfast from the hotel (unclear whether birthday cake at the start of the day is the norm here, or if knowing we were going to be out for dinner, the hotel got a jump on the festivities), we went for a long trek in the mountains above the town of Tilcara up to the Garganta del Diablo and beyond up to 3,000 meters. 

We decided that we really could not leave the Jujuy region without going to see the 14 colored mountains which appeared to be just a quick jaunt after Humahuaca. Well, the 25km were actually a winding, rocky, steep, dirt (read « dust ») road. It took us over an hour to access the vantage point, but once there, we did not regret it for an instant. The view from 4,200 meters was simply breathtaking…

After a relaxing jacuzzi back at Las Marias, we went out for Sasha’s birthday dinner at « El nuevo progreso » restaurant in town, a great space with good food. All in all a very enjoyable day with our newly minted teenager!
