After another delicious breakfast, this time with perfect eggs, tomatoes and the blood sausage we bought in Yotala yesterday, June very kindly drove us to our next destination, the colonial city of Sucre where we checked into the beautiful and authentic Mi Pueblo Samary hotel.

We immediately walked up the steep hill to La Recoleta, which gave us a great overview of the city. There we visited the indigenous textile museum, Asur.
In the late afternoon and evening, we trudged around the city center, which while interesting for its impressive colonial architecture, lacked the charm I had heard so much about and thus anticipated. Perhaps it was the lack of outdoor cafés and cool restaurants? Or having the feeling of not quite knowing what to do with ourselves? Or the pollution stinging my eyes and throat? Or perhaps just no longer being at the Sky Hacienda? 😩 Well, we’ll have more time to try to uncover Sucre’s charm tomorrow…
