After a leisurely morning, we took the boat to La Isla del Sol. We sat on top, which was beautiful–though very cold despite the beaming sun! I was not expecting such a long ride. It took over an hour to get there. From our arrival point, we first walked up to the Polcokaina Sun Temple and then on to the mirador which gave us an amazing view of the immense lake, various smaller islands and the majestic, snowcapped mountains off in the distance. 

The walk down to the Yumani Port was also scenic, but after an hour and a half boat ride back to Copacabana, we had the impression that it was alot of boat for not much walking/visiting.

Très belle visite de la isla del Sol avec vue magnifique sur l’immensité du lac et les volcans alentours, mais beaucoup de bateau pour 1h de marche au total. Je recommenderais donc de passer la nuit sur l’île pour en profiter un peu plus.

Nous dînons à l’hôtel (la cupula, que je recommande pour sa vue, ses jardins avec hamacs, son prix correct et le jacuzi dans l’hôtel d’à côté) ou Sam et Sasha ne trouvent rien de mieux que de commander la fondue au fromage proposée à la carte. Incongru me direz-vous. Je suis d’accord (en plus elle est pas aussi bonne que la mienne) mais peut-être s’agit-il de la fondue la plus haute du monde, qui sait?
